Ceramic Tile - Ouch

Remember the old kitchen tile?  It was atrocious, but removing it wasn't easy.

I started chipping away at the tile using a small sledge and a cold chisel.  It took several days to take up the tile in this manner.

The tiles had been affixed directly to the slab using a cement-like substance, which didn't even come up with the tile.  Solution?  Power tools.  I rented an electronic hammer (basically a small jackhammer) and got to work.

I was able to make some good progress like this, but it took a bit longer than originally anticipated, and I had to call it a night.  It'll take another rental to finish what I started.  At this point, though, there are more-pressing matters to attend to.
