All of the demolition work has resulted in an ever-growing trash heap in my garage. I took some bids yesterday on having it hauled away, and someone came by this morning to pick it up.
Hauling is one of those jobs that is hard to justify doing yourself. The main cost is for dumping the waste, and that cost can't be avoided with a do-it-yourself approach. After considering the cost of renting a truck or a waste bin, I calculated that at best I might save $50 for work that would take me 8-10 hours. Unlike some of the other professionals out there, the waste haulers seem to do an honest day's work. And voila, my trash is gone!
